Writing Selected writing highlights: Most recently (December 2007), Bobby wrote/directed the 2007 indie theatre hit Porn Life at Alchemy Theatre. It was named one of the best shows of 2007 by Fab Magazine’s 3-time Emmy nominated writer Paul Bellini (Kids in the Hall). “The play deserves a remount or, better yet, a TV series. It seems to have huge hit potential.” Please check out the Porn Life website! Child Hood premiered at the 2005 SummerWorks Festival and was performed outside at St. Mary Catholic School. Cast: Bobby Del Rio, Jason Fraser, Angela Besharah, Laura Thorne, Mike Miller, Nicholas Carella, Rachel Sehl and Tameem Sharifi. It was directed by Hume Baugh. Bobby's short play Half-Chinx Taking Over the World was published in the Spring 2002 issue of Canadian Theatre Review. It was first produced by bobbydelrio.com at the Tim Sims Playhouse. It was staged in May by the Broken English Theatre Company in Ottawa and subsequently broadcast on CBC Radio. Please

Bobby was also honoured by The Second Generation Theatre Company who dedicated an evening to staged readings of When Children Fall, Christian Values and Half-Chinx Taking Over the World at the off-Broadway John Houseman Theatre in New York City. His play Christian Values received critical acclaim and major box office success - selling out most shows in minutes at the Fringe of Toronto Festival 2001. It was one of the most highly-attended hits of the festival. His previous success, When Children Fall, garnered him the Robertson Davies Playwriting Award at the University of Toronto Drama Festival 2000. The play was promptly remounted at SummerWorks 2000, becoming one of the hits of the festival - named one of "the year's best Fringe/SummerWorks shows" by Eye Weekly. Bobby was dubbed the "Rising Star" of Toronto theatre for 2000 by Eye Weekly’s Joanne Huffa.
